Galveston County Sheriffs WILL GIVE YOU A TICKET for any of the following:
All vehicles parked on the beach must display a Bolivar Beach Parking sticker ($10—available at most businesses in town, Cobb Real Estate or the Big Store.
Glass containers are prohibited.
Speed limit is 15 mph. No reckless driving.
No littering (Trash barrels are located all along the beach),
No motorized vehicles on sand dunes or off-road on private property,
No bonfires allowed—contained campfires and cooking grills allowed they prefer you dig a hole to contain a campfire. Please put it out with water before you cover with sand to protect others from stepping on hot spots later.
Open container laws apply to all vehicles (including ATV’s, RV’s, Golf Carts)
Golf Carts, ATV’s and RV’s are allowed and may be driven on the beach. The driver must have a valid driver’s license. Only rentals or carts that have a valid license plate may be operated on the side streets. They cannot be operated on the highway. You can cross the highway at an intersection only. If your cart is not licensed it must be taken to the beach on a road-legal trailer. ATV’s and RV’s are also required to have an Off-Road Vehicle sticker that may be obtained from the Texas Parks and Wildlife or from most authorized dealers.
Enjoy our beautiful beaches and help keep them clean. The beach should also be left in its natural state, please do not leave sandcastles, moats, trash – it is harmful to our sea creatures.
